West Bengal: Agnimitra Paul Attended an Administrative Review Meeting of Darjeeling

The Hon'ble minister Ms. Agnimitra Paul conducted a review of matters related to Women and Child Development, Municipal Affairs, disaster mitigation and management, as well as other pertinent issues. She emphasized the importance of promoting women's empowerment, implementing decisive actions to address human trafficking, dismantling trafficking networks, and guaranteeing that the advantages of all social welfare initiatives are delivered eligible family as promptly as possible.

She highlighted that initiating sustainable solid waste management in all hill municipalities, and addressing the dumping yard issue is a priority for the stage government. She stated that the Detailed Project Reports for Sewage Treatment Plants will be developed for the four hill municipalities in the coming days.

To address the traffic congestion and jam in Darjeeling town, she has said that the Darjeeling -Lebong - Rangeyrung - Tin Mile Circular Road project and Alternative Highway to Darjeeling project will be expedited. 

Issues concerning the implementation of AMRUT projects in various municipalities were also discussed. To address the drinking water crisis in Kalimpong, AMRUT 2.0 is exploring all possibilities including laying new pipeline through Neora, Relli-Thockhu project.

She stated that in the coming days, the government will introduce digital governance in all municipalities, including approval for building plans to ensure transparency.

The meeting was attended by Hon'ble MLA from Darjeeling Sh. Noman Rai ji, Hon'ble MLA from Kalimpong Sh.Bharat Chettri ji, Hon'ble MLA from Kurseong Sh. Sonam Lama ji, Darjeeling Municipality Chairman and Executive Officer, District Magistrates from Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts and, SDOs from Mirik, Kurseong and Kalimpong in their capacity as the Administrators of respective municipalities, and other senior officials.

Under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Sh. Suvendu Adhikari ji, the rejuvenation of our entire Darjeeling Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars region will begin.
