West Bengal: Food Safety Department conducted a raid on a laddu factory
A surprise search by the Food Safety Department at Abhishek Sweets, a laddu factory on Netaji Subhash Path Road in Ward No. 8 of Titagarh, failed miserably. The search revealed the factory, spanning approximately 1,100 square feet, was in a very poor condition. In this semi-dark factory, laddus were made in extremely unsanitary conditions and left unattended. The color used in the laddus was highly toxic. When Food Safety Department officials tried to investigate the dangerous color being used in the laddus, they were stunned.
