100 Eminent Teachers Felicitated at Guru Vandana 2026

Teachers play a crucial role in children's lives and in society. A school has always been considered a second home for the children. Teachers are so resilient that they do not teach a book chapter only but teach you life lessons also. For a teacher, all students are always equal. In every schools, colleges or universities every students mark this special day with Cultural performances, games, and gifts. 

An event has been observed in Liluah, inspired by the lives of teachers. The event celebrates the grand success of GURU VANDANA 2026 and also 100 Eminent Teachers Felicitated by the Rotary Club of Kolkata Galaxy & Swarnym Foundation. 

The Grand Felicitation ceremony For Teachers' Day titled " Guru VANDANA 2026- Honoring the Guiding Lights of Our Society," was suceessfully held ar Agrasain Bhawan, Liluah, Howrah. This event was organized by the Rotary Club of Kolkata galaxy in collavoration with other Rotary Clubs from R.I District 3291, c0-hosted by Swarnym Foundation. The ceremony concluded with an immense success and enthusiasm. 

The auditorium was filled with emotion, respect and gratitude as the teaching fraternity was given a standing ovation by the society.

However, over 100 of esteemed headmasters, headmistresses, and senior educator from various districts of West Bengal were recognized for their exceptional, selfless, and lifelong dedication to the field of education. Each educators was presented with memento, a certificate of Excellence, and Uttariya as a Symbol of respect.


Veteran BJP leader and Minister of State, Sri Umesh Roy, was also present at the event as  Chief Guest. He said teachers are the real nation builders and the state government is committed to the welfare and empowerment of the teaching community.

Apart from Minister of State, Sri Umesh Roy Umesh Rai many eminent personalities including District leaders of Rotary International District 3291, Presidents and Secretaries of different Rotary Clubs, prominent educationists, social workers, industrialists and community leaders.

More than 200+ educators, Rotarians, academicians, students and community leaders witnessed the grand celebration, making it one of the largest Teachers' Day gatherings in Howrah-Kolkata region.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Arun Kumar Raj, President, Rotary Club of Kolkata Galaxy and Convenor of Guru Vandana 2026 said:

This is not just a felicitation, it is our 'Guru-Rin' - a debt we try to repay. Teachers are the architects of the nation. The success of Guru Vandana 2026 proves that society still holds its teachers in highest esteem. I thank our co-organizer Swarnym Foundation, Teacher Association of Bengal , all our associate Rotary Clubs of District 3291 (RC Calcutta Elite, RC Behala, RC Belur, RC Bidhannagar, RC  Calcutta Mayfair, RC  Calcutta Samaritans, RC  Calcutta Millennium), our sponsors, and the entire team for making this dream a reality.

The event also featured cultural performances by Mrs. Dipa Das & Team, sharing of experiences by senior Headmasters, and a pledge to uphold the values of education.
