Koel Mallik Begins A New Political Journey with BJP

Today, renowned actress Koel Mallik officially became a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party during a formal ceremony held at the BJP West Bengal State Headquarters located at 6 Murlidhar Sen Lane, Kolkata. Surrounded by prominent state BJP officials, she was graciously received into the BJP organization and honored with the presentation of an Uttariya. 

While addressing the press conference, the state BJP leader said that inspired by the dedicated public service, development-oriented work, and commitment to the welfare of the people demonstrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as the development initiatives undertaken in West Bengal over the past few months under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari, Koel Mallik has decided to join the BJP. It was expressed that she will play an important role in the development of West Bengal and the nation and in serving the people in the days ahead. 

Koel Mallik said that humanity and service to people are the highest values for her. She said that her fundamental motivation for entering politics is to bring a positive change in people's lives. If she can make even a small positive difference in the life of a person through her efforts, she would consider her life truly meaningful.
Speaking about the criticism directed at her following her political decision, Koel Mallik said that she does not wish to speak negatively about anyone. She said that she holds no anger towards those who attack or criticize her or others. Koel Mallik maintains that negative conduct typically stems from an underlying cause, and she advocates for comprehending this root cause rather than reacting with anger. She expressed her prayers and good wishes for everyone's mental well-being and happiness.

Replying to the question that her earlier association with the Trinamool Congress was a wrong decision, Koel Mallik articulated that every political organization operated according to its distinct methodology and endeavors to serve the populace through its own particular approach. She emphasized her willingness to disparage any political entity or individual. Nevertheless, she conveyed profound satisfaction and a sense of honor regarding her decision to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party, and she expressed her enthusiasm for participating in initiatives aimed at advancing societal development and public welfare through a more expansive platform. 

Upon her affiliation with the BJP, Koel Mallick articulated that the advancement of public welfare, the progressive development of Bengal, and the provision of national service shall constitute her foremost priorities. Prior to Koel Mallik's transition, numerous former Trinamool Congress leaders had similarly joined the Bhartiya Janata Party, including Sushmita Dev, a former TMC Rajya Sabha member who had previously shifted from the Congress party in 2021 before subsequently joining BJP; Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, a distinguished senior leader and former TMC parliamentarian who resigned following internal organizational disagreements.
