RSS Sthapna Diwas Celebrated on Vijayadashami
The Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh was established on September 27, 1925, through the initiative of Sr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Today, on 20 October 2026, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is commemorating its 101st Foundation Day (Sthapana Divas) and its annual Vijayadashami celebrations. The RSS Foundation Day (Sthapna Diwas) is observed annually on the sacred Hindu occasion of Vijayadashami (Dussehra), which follows the lunar calendar rather than adhering to a fixed calendar date. The Diwas is officially celebrated every year on Vijayadashami, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. These celebrations involve Shahtra Puja (Worship of weapons/instruments of protection), community gatherings (Shakhas), and pledges dedicated to national service and social unity.
