Level Crossing Gate No. 154/E to Be Permanently Closed, LHS to Be Constructed Between Jiaganj and Bhagwangola

It has been informed that there is permanent closure of level crossing Gate no.154/E and construction of a Limited Height Subway (LHS) between Jiaganj and Bhagwangola located in West Bengal. As part of its ongoing efforts to improve passenger safety and facilitate the safe movement of traffic across railway tracks Sealdah Division permanently closed Level Crossing (LC) Gate No. 154/E, located at Km 208/19-21 between jiaganj and Bhawangola station, effective November 3, 2026.The closure followed the successful construction of a Limited Height Subway (LHS), and road traffic will now be routed through the new subway. 

To permanently close the level crossing, trenches have been excavated across the road on both sides of the closed gate and rail-post fencing has been installed to prevent unauthorized movement. 

Keeping the situation in view, Sealdah Division urges all passengers, local residents, and road users to cross the railway line using the newly constructed Limited Height Subway (LHS). All are requested to follow the safety arrangements strictly and refrain from crossion at the permanently closed level crossing. The initiative seeks to eliminate level-crossing hazards and offer road users a safer, more convenient alternative.
