A surprise search by the Food Safety Department at Abhishek Sweets, a laddu factory on Netaji Subhash Path Road in Ward No. 8 of Titagarh, failed miserably. Key points:-  Food Safety Department, the Enforcement Department, the Titagarh Police Station, and the Titagarh Municipality conducted a joint search.  The search revealed the factory, spanning approximately 1,100 square feet, was in a very poor condition. T he Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and West Bengal Election Watch have conducted an analysis of all 294 election expenditure statements submitted following the West Bengal Assembly Election 2026 for the newly elected MLAs. As per the ADR the expenditure cap for MLAs during these elections was set at Rs. 40 Lakhs.
